IQM to supply processing units for Spain’s first quantum computer

IQM, Europe’s leading quantum computing provider and an OurCrowd portfolio company, has been selected to deliver processing units for Spain’s first quantum computer.
The unit will be installed at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center and integrated into the MareNostrum 5 supercomputer, the most powerful in the country.
The project is part of Quantum Spain, an initiative promoted by the Spanish government designed to build the first quantum computer for public use in Southern Europe. It is led by a consortium headed by Spain’s Qilimanjaro Quantum Tech and GMV.
“We are delighted to include the expertise of a great player such as IQM to support us developing this innovative system, that will be purely based on Spanish and European technology. We are sure that this will be a very fruitful collaboration and we are looking forward to be partnering with IQM,” says Victor Canivell, Co-founder and CEO of Qilimanjaro.
